PC GuardX App - How your data is handled and protected.

Effective date: 8 Jun 2026  ·  Version: 1.0.0.0  ·  Publisher: Hasnain Butt Akhtar

1. Overview

PC GuardX is a Windows desktop privacy control center. It lets you turn common Windows privacy settings on or off from one dashboard - camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth, telemetry, advertising, activity history, app permissions, ad-domain blocking, and encrypted DNS.

PC GuardX runs entirely on your device. It does not transmit your personal data, settings, or usage to Hasnain Studio X.

We do not sell, share, or monetize user data. There is no analytics or telemetry SDK in the app.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

PC GuardX does not collect or send the following to the developer:

Identity Data

No name, email, phone number, or account identity is collected.

Usage & Telemetry

No analytics, ad tracking, or third-party telemetry SDKs. We do not log which toggles you use.

System Inventory

Your device names, installed apps, or registry contents are read locally and never uploaded.

Sensitive Data

No passwords, credentials, browsing history, files, or media are accessed or collected.

3. What PC GuardX Changes On Your Device

All actions are local, made only when you flip a toggle or apply a preset, and are reversible.

Windows Settings

Toggles write standard Windows privacy settings and group-policy values in your local registry (camera, microphone, location, telemetry, advertising ID, activity history, Cortana, search, app permissions).

Devices

The camera, microphone and Bluetooth blocks disable/enable the corresponding hardware device on your PC so the block is effective immediately.

Hosts File

Ad-tracker blocking adds or removes ad-domain entries in your local Windows hosts file. No network request is made.

App Preferences

Your chosen theme and accent are stored locally in your user profile (LocalAppData). No cloud sync.

4. Network & Third-Party Services

PC GuardX makes no outbound connection for its core features. The only network-related items are:

Encrypted DNS (optional)

If you enable "Encrypted DNS (DoH)", PC GuardX sets your network adapters to use Cloudflare's resolver (1.1.1.1) over HTTPS. From then on your DNS lookups are sent to Cloudflare instead of your ISP, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. This is off by default and reversible.

Microsoft Store

License, trial and purchase checks are handled by the Microsoft Store on your device. See Section 5.

Links

The app contains links (website, support email, Store page) that open in your browser or the Store only when you click them.

5. Microsoft Store Purchase & Trial

PC GuardX is a paid app with a Microsoft Store-managed free trial. Your trial and license (Trial / Pro) are validated by the Microsoft Store on your device. Payment and transaction processing are handled by Microsoft under Microsoft's policies.

PC GuardX does not see or store your payment card details.

6. App Permissions

PC GuardX runs as a full-trust desktop app so it can change Windows privacy settings on your behalf. System-wide changes (telemetry, device enable/disable, hosts file, DNS) prompt for Windows administrator approval (UAC); nothing changes without your action. Per-user settings apply without elevation. Every change can be reversed from the app's "Restore Windows privacy defaults" button.

7. Children's Privacy

PC GuardX is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13.

8. Policy Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and version on this page.
