1. Overview

QR Creator Studio is developed by Hasnain Studio X with a local-first, privacy-first design philosophy.

  • We do not collect personal data.
  • We do not operate servers for our apps.
  • We do not receive the content of any code you create or read.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize user data.

Creating and reading QR codes happens entirely on your device. The app makes only two outbound connections, both listed in section 5: an optional address lookup that you start yourself, and the Microsoft Store licence check. Neither sends anything to us.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

QR Creator Studio does not collect, store, or send any of the following:

Personal Identity Data

No name, email, phone number, address, or identifiers.

Usage Data or Analytics

No telemetry, crash analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

Your Content

No links, contact cards, Wi-Fi passwords, payment details, calendar events, images, or any other content you put into a code.

Sensitive System Data

No passwords, tokens, credentials, browsing history, or system logs.

Location Data

No GPS, IP-based location, or device location. Coordinates you type into the Location page are yours; see section 5 for the optional address lookup.

We do not run servers, so your content cannot reach us even by accident.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

App Settings

Your theme, accent, shortcuts and preferences are saved locally on your device only.

Your Library and Saved Styles

The codes you save, your favourites, and any style you save for reuse stay in your own user folder and are never transmitted.

Local Cache

Preview thumbnails and temporary export files stored locally and never transmitted.

Local Trial or Licence State

Managed entirely by the Microsoft Store. The app reads it locally; we receive nothing.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

4. Microsoft Store Licensing

QR Creator Studio is a paid app with a Microsoft Store managed free trial. All licensing, payments, and transactions are handled exclusively by Microsoft.

  • We do not process payment information.
  • We do not store payment details.
  • We do not receive your Microsoft account information.

5. App Permissions and Network Use

Every permission below is used only for the feature named, and only when you use it.

Minimum Required Only

QR Creator Studio requests only the permissions its features need. Permissions are used solely for app features and never for data collection.

File Access

Only when you choose a file to read, or choose where to save a code. There is no background scanning of your drives.

Clipboard Access

Used when you paste into the app, copy a code out, or read a code from the clipboard. The optional clipboard watch feature is off by default and can be switched off at any time in Settings.

Camera

Only while you are using the live camera scan on the Scanner page. Frames are read on your device to find a code and are never recorded, saved, or transmitted.

Screen Capture

Only when you start a screen scan and select a region yourself. The captured region is read on your device and is not saved or transmitted.

Network Access

Used for exactly two things, and nothing else.

Every outbound connection, in full

  • Optional address lookup (OpenStreetMap Nominatim). Only on the Location page, and only when you ask the app to turn an address into coordinates or coordinates into an address. It sends the address or coordinates you typed and nothing else: no account, no identifiers, no other content. You can switch this off completely with the Work offline only setting.
  • Microsoft Store licence check. The app asks Windows whether your trial or purchase is valid. This is handled by Microsoft; we receive nothing from it.

Creating and reading QR codes never requires a connection. With the offline setting enabled, the address lookup is disabled and only the Store licence check remains.

6. Children's Privacy

QR Creator Studio is a general-purpose productivity utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect any data from any user.

7. Policy Updates

If this policy changes, we will update the version and effective date. Any changes will remain consistent with our core principle: Your data stays on your device.

Policy version 1.0.0.0. QR Creator Studio was previously published as Drop2QR; this policy replaces the earlier page for that app.
