Stillmotion - How your data is handled and protected.

1. Overview

Stillmotion is a Windows desktop app for organising, editing, and exporting photos and videos in one local library.

Stillmotion processes all of your photos and videos locally on your device and does not transmit your media or personal data to Hasnain Studio X. This is our zero upload policy.

We do not sell, share, or monetise user data, and we do not train any model on your media.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Stillmotion does not collect or send the following to the developer:

Identity Data

Name, email, phone number, or personal identity data.

Your Media

Your photos and videos are never uploaded to our servers and never leave your machine.

Telemetry

No analytics, ad tracking, or third-party telemetry SDKs are used.

Metadata Harvesting

EXIF, GPS, and other metadata are read on device only to organise your library, never collected or sent.

3. Data Stored Locally

Library and Settings

Your imported file list, theme, accent, and app settings are stored locally on your device.

License State

Trial and Pro status are managed by the Microsoft Store and read on device.

Exports

Edited photos, rendered videos, and SRT caption files are created only when you explicitly export.

4. Network and Third Party Services

Stillmotion makes no outbound calls to handle your media. The only network activity is:

Optional FFmpeg Component

If you choose to enable WebM, AVI, or burned-in caption export, Stillmotion downloads the open-source FFmpeg component (LGPL) from its public GitHub release. This is a one-time download of program files only. No account, media, or personal data is sent.

5. Microsoft Store Purchase and Trial

Stillmotion is a paid app with a Microsoft Store managed free trial. Payment, billing, and trial enforcement are handled by the Microsoft Store under Microsoft policies.

Stillmotion does not process or store payment card details.

6. App Permissions

Stillmotion runs as a full trust desktop app and uses internet access only for the optional FFmpeg download and the Microsoft Store license check. It reads and writes only the files you choose. Permissions are used for app functionality, never for data harvesting.

7. Children's Privacy

Stillmotion is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and version on this page.
