Works Offline
The whole-planet basemap and its terrain ship inside the app. With no connection the globe still renders everywhere, and no request of any kind is made. The internet is optional.
Closer Detail
When you fly closer than the built-in basemap covers, the app requests extra map squares and terrain from third-party mapping data providers. Each request identifies only the square being drawn.
Orbital Data
When you enable satellite tracks, the app requests current orbital reference data from a third-party provider so the tracks are accurate.
What These Requests Contain
A map square reference, or a request for orbital reference data. Nothing else. No account, no identifier, and nothing about you is attached. As with any internet request your IP address is visible to the provider serving it, which is how the internet works and is not something we collect, log or receive.
Never Sent
Your saved places, routes, camera sequences, captured images and settings are never included in any request and never leave your device.
Minimum Permissions Only
TerraX Ultra declares internet access and standard desktop app permissions. It requests no camera, microphone, contacts, or location permission.
File Access
Only when you choose to import or export a file, or save an image. There is no background scanning.
These providers have their own privacy policies covering the requests they receive. We have no agreement with them about you, receive nothing back from them about you, and never send them anything you create in the app.
